We're excited to announce the addition of Dr. Amy Maskey to our practice. Dr. Maskey will be seeing birds, reptiles, small exotic mammals, fish, amphibians, and spiders in the Diamond Springs office. Click on "Dr. Maskey" to see her biography.
With this addition we will be increasing our appointment availability. We've been limiting well bird exams and new bird exams due to the high demands put on us since the COVID pandemic began. Those exams will now be readily available again. We'll still be doing curbside, drop off appointments for most grooming in the Diamond Springs office.
Most new owners may not know the symptoms of bird sickness because birds can be effective at hiding them. There are a few tell-tale signs that owners should watch for to have the best chance of saving their pet from a life-threatening ailment. If your bird exhibits any of the symptoms described on our website's "Signs of Sickness", contact us as soon as possible.

Avian Health Services has two locations.

8037 Fair Oaks Blvd, ste 104, Carmichael, 95608.
Both locations require a pre-arranged appointment by calling
(530) 621-4171 between 8:30 am and 6 pm Monday through Friday.
The Diamond Springs location is the main office with full services of x rays, hospitalization, and surgery.
The Carmichael location is an outpatient clinic where everything can be done except for xrays, hospitalization, and surgery.
Dr. Maskey is now seeing small exotic mammals (rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, rats, mice, etc), fish, amphibians, and spiders in addition to birds and reptiles at the Diamond Springs location. Dr. Smith continues to see only birds and reptiles at the Carmichael location.
Emergency Services:
